Lawrence out for championship

Likely marks end of Clemson career for junior defensive tackle

Clemson junior defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, freshman tight end Braden Galloway and redshirt junior offensive lineman Zach Giella will not be allowed to play in Monday’s national championship game, the school announced Thursday.

The players were suspended by the NCAA two weeks ago after failing drug tests and were not allowed to play in Clemson’s College Football Playoff game against Notre Dame.

For Lawrence, this almost certainly signifies the end of his Clemson career as he is expected to enter the 2019 NFL draft, where he still very well could be a firstround pick depending how teams view his suspension.
