Satterfield to be new coach at Louisville

According to a report in the Dec. 3 Louisville Courier-Journal, Satterfield has accepted the position of head coach. The Courier-Journal cited a source “with direct knowledge of the decision.”

The 45-year-old Satterfield’s six-year tenure at App State started with a losing record but quickly turned into a sprint into FBS competition. Appalachian has gone 51-24 under Satterfield while developing a championship culture. The team claimed three-consecutive bowl games and as many conference titles since making the shift from FCS. That includes Saturday’s 30-19 victory against Louisiana in the inaugural SBC championship.
